⭕MD 1 TASK 1. Generate subtitles to make a video more accessible
In order to promote inclusion and provide an accessible language and environment for all students, we have the option to integrate subtitles into the educational videos we create. These subtitles will help students with hearing impairments, comprehension difficulties, as well as newly arrived students and families.
⭕ Task to Complete
In this task, you will have to:
1️⃣ Record a short video of up to 1 minute (using any mobile device), or use one you have already created. To make the recording easier, we suggest using the recommended tools (Screen Recorder, Loom, or Screencastify), which you can find in the toolbox.
2️⃣ Once you have recorded the video or selected one you already have, you need to transcribe it (you can do this on the website softcatalà.org; a tutorial is available in the toolbox).
3️⃣ Finally, you need to add the generated subtitles to make the video more accessible. To do this, use YouTube, where you can embed the transcription as subtitles and upload the video. Follow the tutorial available in the toolbox. Remember the key elements for creating accessible subtitles that were presented earlier and can be found in the toolbox.
⛏ Toolbox:
